MARILYN YOUNG

"My watercolors reflect my views of the bright beautiful colors of Florida and in nature. I love the wonderful serendipity of watercolor. Bright Vivid Colors are used, often with multiple glazes of watercolor for depth. Works include landscapes, portraits, floral and underwater scenes. Mixed Media works may have collage or acrylic with watercolor glazes. I enjoy working with the transparency and spontaneity of watercolor, splashing on colorful fish or suggesting sunlight below the water are some of my favorite subjects. I am also interested in innovative water media and special effects of transparent watercolor over textures.”
Marilyn was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and studied Fine Art and Art Education at Wayne State University. Other studies include Museum classes, private instruction and Watercolor workshops. She currently operates First Sign Corp., her business in commercial Sign and Logo Design. Marilyn Young lives in Boca Raton, Fl and is an active member of the Palm Beach Watercolor Society and Women in the Visual Arts.
